I obtained my Ph.D. in materials science and engineering from UCSB in Dec. of 2004 and my B.S. in mechanical engineering from Northwestern University in June of 2000.
As a participant in Northwestern's co-op engineering program, I spent a total of 18 months working at Argonne National Laboratory's Advanced Photon Source.
As a Ph.D. student in the Materials Department at UCSB, I was co-advised by Professors Noel MacDonald and David Clarke. My dissertation involved oxidation related phenomena in nanoscale Si structures.
