Education

2000-2003: M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering, UCSB

1997: B.S. in Materials Engineering from Brown University.

Undergraduate research -- investigation of metal-ceramic nanoscale powder composites.

Work Experience

1997 - 2000: Worked as engineer at Electric Boat Corporation

2000-Present: Graduate Student Researcher UCSB Materials Department

Research

Research Project: BioMEMS and microfluidics.

I am working on the development of microfluidic channels with integrated silicon electrodes. The goal is to study the effect of electric fields on biomolecules and liquid crystals in confined spaces.
