Financial Aid & ScholarshipsPreparing yourself academically for college takes planning and effort. So does managing the cost of your college education. The University of California is committed to helping all academically eligible students attend, regardless of their economic circumstances. The UC application is used to determine many scholarship awards, so be sure to keep that in mind when you are writing your essay, as the criteria used is both grade point average and your personal information. Regents' ScholarshipsThe Regents of the University of California established the prestigious Regents Scholarship Award in 1962 to recognize incoming undergraduates of outstanding academic achievement and promise. At UCSB, the award is coordinated by the Office of Admissions. Currently the award is $6,000 per year for four years for entering freshmen; two years for entering transfer students. More than 150 Regents Scholars attend UC Santa Barbara. For more information go to: College of Engineering ScholarshipsThe college administers scholarships specifically for engineering students.
