Transfer PreparationStudents preparing to transfer into an undergraduate major in the College of Engineering from a California Community College should use www.assist.org for major specific course requirements. Students preparing to transfer to UCSB from any other institution should carefully review the admissions eligibility and course requirements found at: Prospective Transfers Recent successful applicants had completed a majority of the preparation for their major with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. More than 45 % of the applicant pool for Fall 2007 were admitted to their 1st choice major, with a pre-major GPA just over 3.5; the average pre-major GPA of the transfer students who accepted UCSB's College of Engineering admission offer was 3.36. Consequently, transfer students should focus on completing all engineering preparatory courses offered at their college with the best grades possible and then finishing their General Education requirements after matriculation to UCSB. California Community College students should refer to www.assist.org for more specific information about transferring.
