I am a Post-Doctoral scholar in the ECE
department at the University of California-Santa
Barbara (UCSB). I work with
Prof Kenneth Rose
in the Signal Compression
Laboratory. I have recently completed my PhD in December 2008 from the ECE department, UCSB.
Earlier, I did my B.Tech from
IIT-Delhi in 2003. During my PhD, I interned at
NTT Docomo Labs, Palo Alto
while I interned at Fraunhofer Labs, Erlangen, Germany in my undergraduate days.
My research interests are communication and signal processing. Currently, I am working in the areas of video and image coding. I am investigating various error resilience algorithms in packet-based networks for live video networking and multi-cast applications, and new transforms for video and image compression.
My PhD thesis was on 'Distributed coding of spatio-temporally correlated sources' (Defense slides). It focuses on solving the following three major problems in distributed coding (more details about the problems can be found here):
Other research projects (details here):
Course projects (details here).
