My current objective is to study networks of coupled oscillators (in particular pulse-coupled phase oscillators) through the framework of operator-theoretic methods. At a small scale, these methods are applied to characterize the sensitivity of an oscillator to an external perturbation (such as the influence of the neighboring oscillators). At a larger scale, the approach reveals the spectral properties of the whole network by considering the (possibly intricate) collective dynamics of the oscillators through statistical time averages.
