UCSB Engineering Majors on Top 10 List of 'Best Majors for Making Money'
UCSB College of Engineering undergraduate majors make PayScale's Top 10 list of most lucrative majors
The hard work of UCSB engineering students could pay off in a big way down the road. Engineering and the sciences top PayScale.com's 2012-2013 College Salary Report of majors that yield the most lucrative careers. Out of the Top 10 'Best Majors for Making Money', according to PayScale's report, undergraduate engineering majors at UCSB are well-represented -- including Chemical Engineering (#1), Electrical Engineering (#6), Computer Engineering (#7), and Computer Science (#9).
According to PayScale.com, their methodology takes into account the median salary of mid-career employees who graduated with a full-time, bachelor's degree with no further degree and more than 10 years of career experience. All jobs, regardless of related discipline, are taken into account.
