Chemical Engineering professor Baron Peters has been honored with a 2013 Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award in recognition of his leadership in research and education. The Dreyfus Award Program supports the careers of talented young faculty in the chemical sciences. The award recognizes Peters for his teaching and research in the area of computational approaches, in particular as it applies to additives for control over polymorph selection during nucleation.

Criteria for selection include an independent body of scholarship attained within the first five years of their appointment as independent researchers, and a demonstrated commitment to education, signaling the promise of continuing outstanding contributions to both research and teaching. The Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Awards Program provides an unrestricted research grant of $75,000.
